- VVA Chapter 1030
Forsyth Veterans Donate To Assist Deputy Sheriff
Forsyth County Veterans groups recently donated to assist a Deputy Sheriff's and Veteran in need of a transplant.

Forsyth County military veterans and public safety personnel have long had a unique relationship based on service and sacrifice.
That relationship brought five of Forsyth County's Veterans Organizations together, according to a press release from the Vietnam Veterans of America Cumming Chapter 1030. The groups together donated $3,000 to the Sheriff's Office B.A.D.G.E. program, which provides assistance to sheriff's personnel facing unforeseen health concerns or other unwelcome circumstances in their lives.
Representatives of the veterans groups met with Sheriff Ron Freeman to hand over the checks which the sheriff said would be directed to assist a deputy who is a military veteran and combating a serious illness which will require a transplant, according to the release.
